I haven't been paid, but I quit a few weeks ago, so I didn't imagine I was gonna get anything. I should report though, I've talked to 3 people who are still working for Nova and none of them have gotten paid. This looks like it folks, get ready for the fallout.

It's usually deposited at midnight on payday. There's already been a 5 day delay and here we are, it's nearly 5 hours in to the new payday, and there is no money.

But hey, at least I won't have to go in to work on Saturday...

I heard rumours a couple of days ago that it was probably going to be delayed to the 25th. Our AAM was calling people and seeing if they would have trouble if (IF) they didn't get paid on the the 19th. Fortunately I'm on vacation for the next week so I don't have to go through all the trouble of calling in sick (or showing up to work and then explaining to my students why I'm not teaching them).

That's very true partialtone but on the other hand, the last time the AT's didn't get paid, they finally did get paid sometime around 11 am or so (I believe-I could be wrong on that one).

I haven't checked yet but I don't expect to be paid. If by some miracle we are I doubt it will be in the account before 3pm. I expect another fax today saying pay will be delayed until the 24th. If that happens then I doubt anyone will come to work this weekend. It's sad to say but Nova is well and truly finished.

Edit- I have heard rumours as well about some people receiving 'partial' payments but I'll believe it when I see it.

word on lj is that foreign personnel told people they don't know of any plans to pay anyone today, and have been unable to contact the president to ask for more information. allegedly all kyoto schools have cancelled all lessons for the day.
looks like it's over.
edited to add: sorry, to correct that -- payroll have told people they are unable to pay anyone without sahashi's signature. and as they cannot find sahashi...

again quoting a poster on lj
Quote:
In Fukuoka as of 12:00 the RAAM has been ringing Instructors and telling them there is no pay today and no new date. They are asking them their intentions to work etc.

Companies can pay anything they want late such as advertising, rent (to some extent), refunds for students etc... but when they don't pay their staff, then they should be out of business. Staff simply will no longer show up to work (surprising how many still have up until now). The company has been going on the idea, it seems, that "titled instructors" thinking they have a good thing going will want to stay on longer in the hope that this will all blow over.

NOVA are still considered "in business" because there is a lot of wishful thinking keeping the teachers coming in to teach.

Your salary should be sitting in your bank account when you wake up in the morning on pay days.

If you've already been at work today for several hours and there's still no cash in your account, wouldn't that serve as a heads up to those who are still showing up for work that they might be getting sweet f*ck all from NOVA from here on out.

I'm truly baffled by the fact that NOVA teachers are still showing up to teach for NOVA even after late payments and then again today, not getting paid, even after they were given NOVA's word that they would be paid.

NOVA simply cannot be trusted.
