It's just my perception. And the perception of a lot of Taiwanese girls is that every foreigner guy is a player. I've been on the dating scene and have seen the best and worst from Taiwanese girls. And I've seen the best and worst of foreigners dating these girls. If you meet the right one then she will be great, just like any girl from any other country. But I'll stick to the blanket statement that was asked for.

What is your point? Using a toilet to pee is not natural. It is a learned trait from society. People existed for thousands of years with out toilets. They went next to a tree or wherever.

LOL, thanks for proving my point Smile

Just as peeing in the toilet is a learned behavior of CIVILIZED society, so should giving people the benefit of the doubt instead of lumping all of them into one category and making blanket statements about a country of tens of millions of people.

I'm glad you see it my way Smile

Hey man,

Well, you're obviously entitled to your opinion, but I'm wondering what that has to do with Taiwanese girls being "fun if you like games"?

Furthermore, if someone is a "player", then I don't think he will be looking for a real relationship.

I love the word "player," by the way...it's so full of vitriole. Laughing

I don't know how any girl would know in the first date or two how much money you or I have. I would not just go and blow money on a woman unless I knew she like me for more than money.
They don't explicitly ask it, but they can tell. This is their game -- they are masters at estimating salaries. Haven't you ever noticed that some of the first questions Koreans ask (within the first five minutes)? "How old are you?" "What's your major?" "When did you come to Korea?" "What's your occupation?" With these four questions that almost every Korean (man or woman) asks as soon as they meet you, it is easy to figure out someone's income.

Believe me, I'd love to meet women who don't care about my money, as well, but I'm sure the ugly 200-pound woman is saying "I only want to meet someone who doesn't care about my looks." Will she find such a person? She sure won't be getting me. We are all more superficial than we'd like to admit.

You are only partly correct. Just because she knows my job and how old I am does not mean she knows how many rental properties or stock options that I have and I would not be the first to tell her.

Could be worse, you could be in the US, like I am right now, where 7 out of 10 women are either obese or overweight (by the way, there's scientific evidence to prove this, a recent BBC article comes to mind, not to mention peoples' own personal experiences).

Okay, so, don't piss on your living room floor and don't make generalizations. Got it!
Also, 7 out of 10 women in the USA are obsese.
This has been scientifically proven and is based on peoples' personal experiences.

Korean women are hot, Japanese women are hot, Taiwanese women are hot. Period. End of story.

Has this been emperically proven? Can you provide any scientific evidence for this?
Or is this blanket generalization mereley based on personal observation and experience?
Isn't the above statement here an example of a subjective opnion and not based on objective criteria?

SEndrigo wrote:
(In Japan, Taiwan and Korea) 90 percent of the women are thin and have nice bodies.

Has this been scientifically shown to be the case, or is this also a genralization based on a subjective evaluation of the women in North-East Asia?
Do you know or have you seen 100% of the women in Japan, Taiwan and Korea? Very Happy

SEndrigo,

I'm curious if you see the irony of your posts! Very Happy

Seems that for someone who claims to be against making generalizations and who chastises others for stereotyping and genralizing, you make quite a few of them yourself! Very Happy

Hey there Miyazaki,

Thanks very much for the reply, although you've not really understood what I really intended to communicate, which is OK Smile

I knew that despite my best efforts, this thread would inevitably insult some people who took it personally when they shouldn't have (not talking about you though, Miyazaki), and I'll undoubtedly insult someone's mother or sister by posting this following link, and I apologize profusely in advance, but it IS scientfic proof, so I urge you to read it:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/health/7057951.stm

In the article it says two-thirds of Americans are overweight or obese...so I guess that's pretty close to my 7 out of 10 theory, wouldn't you say?

So the only question that remains is...

Where's my Nobel Prize??? Laughing

Why does Al Gore get a Nobel Prize and not me? LOL!

Seriously though, let me point out that there would be so many more beautiful women in the US if they just lost some weight.

You see women who are about 40 pounds overweight, and it kills you, because they would be gorgeous if they just lost some weight.

Oh, but my dear Miyazaki, you seem to have ignored this one very important point:

That being attracted to someone is SUBJECTIVE, while being obese is OBJECTIVE.

There are scientific and biological principles such as BMI (Body Mass Index) involved when one talks about obesity.

Let's face it...when someone is 5'4" and 300 pounds, they are obese, and that's scientifically proven. End of story.

But I also accept that someone may not be attracted to a thin, dark-haired, leggy beauty with angel eyes, who stops every guy dead in his tracks. I admit that even that is subjective. Very Happy

So I can sit here all day and say Taiwanese, Japanese, Korean, etc. women are hot...it's my opinion (not only mine, just about every guy I ever met says the same thing, and I bet it's your opinion too, only you won't admit it right now, haha)

Now, is it a generalization? It might be, according to your definition...but at least it's a NICE generalization that makes people feel BETTER about themselves. Smile

Rather than the sour-grape generalization of "they are immature" or "they are golddiggers".

And that's what I'd like to do here - make people feel better about themselves.

Which is why I apologized for talking about obese people and posting the link to the article in advance!

Again, as I pointed out earlier, being attracted to someone is subjective, and to me, I find Asian women to be very attractive.

Now, the fact most of them are thin, is not nearly as big a generalization as you make it out to be.

I bet if I looked really hard, I could find actual scientific proof that that is the case.

Oh...wait a second...didn't it say in that BBC article that only 7% percent of people in East Asia were obese?

Gee, so that's....93 percent NOT obese.

Wow...frighteningly close to my 90 percent number!

Miyazaki, serious question here...WHERE is my Nobel Prize? LOL!

For the moment, I'll have to live vicariously through you, as you bask in the hotness of the Shibuya 109 women.

I bet you're not having too bad a time in Japan, surrounded by all those thin beauties. You lucky dog you Smile

OK. You got me. Yes, I admit it - I'm a GENERALIZER!!!

I generalize that an entire group of women are beautiful. And by doing so, make them feel better about themselves.

You're right, I'm also a terrible person for making a blanket statement as to the beauty of these lovely women in Japan and Taiwan...God bless them! Laughing
