I was just talking to a senior colleague about our UAEU payrise and he said a newly hired colleague was spitting teeth as just after he resigned from SQU a 70% pay-raise was announced. True or not? Did the Language Centre staff get a pay raise recently? Or was there a recent salary hike but only for content teachers? |

I thought it sounded a tad unlikely. But as I said I am talking here about Professor types not lowly TEFLers. And don't know if my contact was talking about total salary or base.
Was there a raise at all in the last 6 - 9 months? I heard in April that something like 14% was on the cards for SQU LC staff but don't know if it happened. |

It's all rumours; yes, the rumour is that there's a raise on the cards for -- National Day? January? One person will tell you that his/her contacts assure him it's going to happen; another that his/her contacts dismiss the idea of any raise at all, completely. Who knows? |
