I'm considering a position in Mexico and was wondering what income tax was like there. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Gracias!

Ok, well, it's a full-time position at a university and pays 327,000 pesos a year. I feel like that's pretty good salary for the area. I've just been working in the Middle East where salaries are a bit higher and you don't have to pay taxes. So, I guess I'd like to know how far 327,000 pesos a year is going to get me. Thanks!

That's a great salary, you'll live like a king. They'll probably tax at least 20% of it... depends on how bent the uni's accountant is. Where are you going to teach?

...sounds like the Tec de Monterrey Culiacan Campus (Sinaloa). Most employers in Mexico quote a salary after taxes rather than before.
that works out to roughly 27,000 pesos a month andyou can live quite well on that. However, I am not familiar with the cost of living around there so I'd recommend contacting the school to get information from them.

On that salary, at least in the D.F., two people could live like kings!
