How quickly a year goes. Supposedly it's a sign of old age but am sure that's not the case.
It's been a very 'up and down' year for me. I had to leave a great country and a fantastic guy in September , fell out with a friend who I'd known for a while - don't ask why as am not entirely sure myself, and had to leave some fantastic friends I'd made in Oman, and of course with the recent attacks in Istanbul there was a lot of conv\cern for some very good friends I still have over there.
On a more positive note ( I hope) - am now working as an Academic Co-ordinator (aka DOS) in Indonesia, friends of mine have recently had a healthy baby girl and well..........who knows what the future will bring. |

I think 2003 has been a vast improvement on 2002, but still with some highs and lows. Guatemala was a special time for me, but wading the floods after work in Mexico was not my idea of a good time. Had to do that more than once - not a lifestyle I wanted to continue.

Best: telling QP what to with their job. Worst: the knowledge that skintitude is back on the horizon. (What is the noun from skint? Pennilessness? Penury?)

Good thing:
Saved a huge amount of CASH (woked damned hard, didn't go out much, didn't take fabulous holidays, didn't buy clothes- not that Japanese clothes fit!).
Bad thing:
Planned to use the nest egg to buy a house in Canada, only to find out that I would need a 35% downpayment instead of the 25% I had been planning on. (Non-residents have to put more money down) So I have to wait another year for the house. |

2003?
* Finished first year of uni (Feb 2003 to October 2003), am starting again next Jan. This is easy man, what's the fuss about?
* Working (30hrs p/w) full time too. (I've complained about this before...)
* Did DELTA coursework July-August 2003, Exam Dec 2003 - results in February 2004. The extended assignment (involving a depressed case-study student who 'gave-up' on me halfway though) was dire, and the exam quite possibly the most monstrous incarnation of evil I've ever witnessed.
* Accrued masses of debt, with no foreseeable way in the future of paying the fucker off.
Been a bit of a stressful year, really - with plenty more to come |

Best
- seeing my children all fly the nest successfully;
-getting divorced (the separation was 2 years earlier - time to finish the pain)
- enjoying my job
-spending time with my friends - greatly increased social life
Worst
- working with a recalcitrant staff member - very stressful.
2004
Best plans - coming to China
Worst - selling my car - I love it! |
