hey, maybe you think i am being lazy but i have actually researched this but you can't beat personal recommendations. ive recentley completed a tesol course in beijing and am currently looking for a school to work at.
who is going to be the kind soul who will give me there recommendation???
however, if you dont want to then please dont waste your own time by telling me to do my own research! (because i have!)
also, if you like you might want to tell me why you recommend it. i also dont have a degree. |

You will have to find a boss that knows nothing about English grammar that is for certain. Your English is terrible! How did you get a pass in Tesol?

"...about English grammar. That is for certain."

"How did you get a passing score in TESOL?"
"How did you pass the TESOL?" |

You missed "there recommendation". But at least the OP spelled "recommendation" correctly in the post, if not the header. |

Sad part this guy is probably going to find a position with some public university. He will probably get paid the average salary and the dean Mr. Wang or Mr. Li will love him. Why? Because he can make the students laugh and keep them happy even though he will teach them nothing. |

maybe, the OP's askin' someone to be provided with a recommendation (reference) for his/her prospective employer...one of us on forums..it only takes "a phone number" and "willingness" to answer the call
OP, chinese do not follow up, so you are free to say whatever you wish in your resume ... however, be aware chinese employers (in some provinces) are now required to provide a recommandation letter on the end of your contract and if they do not like you, you'll have to move out of the location (or bribe to get the letter)
peace to all kinda appliiiicants for the lovely gigs in the 5000 years old country
and
cheers and beers to all experts |

You lot are really SO friendly and welcoming to new posters aren't you? You should be ashamed of youyrselves.. How can you just make that statement about someone you have no idea of?
He might actually be a really good teacher.. Perfect grammar does not make a perfect teacher, and anyway the chinese teachers usually teach that.. A good teacher is someone who can get the students to actually speak English and not be scared of us! |

To answer the question, most people in Asia don't write reference letters they have you do it then they sign it . What you must do is write one then have someone with good Chinese, translate it into Chinese , then get it stamped by the school you took your TESOL course at in Beijing . The important thing in China is your photo . Wear a tie and get a hair cut . Facial hair is frowned on so get a shave too. If you are a woman tell them your hobbies are singing and dancing . If you are a man tell them you love three on three basketball. |

You don't even need to be able to read and write to get a job at a university in China. All you need is good vocal cords and a love for music. |

anyone coming here with positive comments about a school are hounded out pretty sharpish!
but if your research has included searching this forum then you'll know that already |

I think you are way off here. If you look at Anda's posts, he gives reems of information to many people. Here the OP is the problem. Comes, uses really terrible english. Not just, oops, spelled a word wrong" bad english. Then he wants us to give a recommendation? For a good school? And what is his idea of a good school? Oops, didn't say.

Excuse me? What positive comments did he make about a school?
How is this pertinent?
But I will agree that posting is a bad way to get a recommendation for a good school. If I know some schools I consider good, I would not post them here. I would introduce the good schools to people who are genuinely interested, and I think would be good for the school. I wouldn't blindly recommend a good school to someone with no degree, and makes a request with english like that.
Personally, I think the guy must be a troll, deliberately trying to provoke |
