Last week I had and passed an interview for a PDI position at HCT. Does anyone work in this area of HCT. If so what are the salaries and benefits? Any additional information would also be greatly appreciated. |

PDI stands for Professional Development Instructor and is where the instructor runs work shops for teachers at UAE schools and goes around and mentors the teachers at the schools.
I can not find any posts on the discussions boards |

That's the first we've ever heard of such a position. Which campus?
Good Luck!
When it comes to PD, people prefer more hands on workshops that will help in their daily job, like how to use Microsoft Office 2007, rather than nebulous pedagogic theories, like "than silent way", the six hats, the seven habits, and other antediluvian ideas that have finally made it the Gulf by broken down old people in the ever expanding "for profit" PD world. |

Not surprised that you didn't find anything as I have never heard of the position. It is apparently something new, so we may not have any members that can tell you much.
But you might want to give your credentials (BA? MA? years of experience?) and see what people might think that they would earn in a teaching position.

This sounds more like one of the many projects to provide PD to the local schools rather than to HCT colleges. |

Yes, it is through HCT but doing it in the UAE school system either based in Dubai or Abu Dabi.
I have a couple of education MAs and 10 years teaching experience. |

At a guess, it would be a faculty-level position (G5 or G6). Salary with your qualifications and experience at this level should be upwards of 12,200/month starting. Housing, medical and annual flights for you/dependents provided.
Unless it's through CERT, in which case salaries and benefits may differ significantly. |

OP, were you briefly involved with the PPP project that started last year in four locations in Abu Dhabi? |

Yes, this does sound like a new CERT position. I imagine the pay would be the same as other CERTers about 12,000 or so to start.
I know some people doing this same job through ADEC and it's affiliates but never through HCT. The few that I know doing it like it quite a bit. Very flexible schedule and few contact hours. It does depend a lot on where you will be stationed and who you are set up with as mentees. |

Look for NAPO on the HCT website or if you want info quick do a google search for NAPO and CEPA. The job of PD instructor is being advertised on HCT recruitment page. |

Yup, it's listed as a G5 (faculty level) post.
Looks like an interesting job. |
