Yes, there's something to be said for taking your time...
But I really think that there aren't enough advisors out there telling young people their options. I graduated from university in 4 years with three majors and a year abroad. Because I planned well, never shunned 8 am classes or classes that were "on during Days (of My Life)" like a lot of my counterparts.
I also finished high school in three years but decided to stick around and enjoy the fourth. My bestfriend was on the same track as me but went straight to college at 17 after 3 years of high school, he ended up in drug rehap, but 6 years later finally finished his BA and got back on track. He regrets rushing through high school now. |

I'm over 30 and people still think I'm barely legal! Treat it as a blessing. Some people are barely legal and look like they're in their 30s. In my case, people usually get over the 'young look' after they have a conversation with me. A little bit of talking and I always get, 'How old are you anyway?' The shock always amuses me
I've found that what you have to say and how you say it goes a long way....When people don't take you seriously, let them know that you mean business intelligently and with conviction. It always seem to work for me. |
