I'm planning for my journey to Thailand and I'm trying to get all of the things that I imagine will difficult to find over there. What things should I buy before coming over?

Most people say to bring shoes if you wear big sizes. Bangkok has virtually everything, maybe more than where you come from. I wish I could get Dr. Pepper here though.

It depends on where you live. In Bangkok, I can get anything I need. Where I live, there are weeks I can't find coffee filters.

Absolutely nothing!! Thailand sems to be one of the most westernized place I've ever visited. Bangkok and Chiang Mai are a walking expat zone. I took absolutely nothing with me when I went there 3 years ago from Los Angeles and I haven't missed a single thing. Clothes have never been a problem. Food is hardly a source of concern. Maybe you can't get Kudo's or Pop Tarts but really, who cares? There's food stores and markets catering to expats everywhere. If you get out into the rural villages, you may have more of a problem, and even if larger cities like Khon Khen it could be a problem but for the most part, it's an easy easy place to acclimate to.

Villa Market sells several different flavors of Pop Tarts.

I buy them weekly.

I am what I am. Wink

I got sick of using shaving cream (or paying for it ) so I went looking for shaving brushes. I had no luck but I suppose if you searched in Bangkok, you might find them. Other than that, everything else is easily available.

Haven't used shaving cream or a brush in years, just soap up your face and shave away.

Everything for living is here. The things to be concerned with are specific brands/items you don't want to live without (certain herbal supplements, natural peanut butter).

You travel for it, get it shipped in, or you adapt.

Bangkok does have just about everything... certain types of products may be more difficult to find or a bit more expensive. I haven't been able to find any stick deodorant out here though. All they seem to have is some kind of liquid roll on junk. But hey, learning to adapt to a new culture and environment is what travel is all about, right?

Stick deodorant is readily available and one of the biggest sellers is made by Nivea. Blue container for men and white for women and can be found at all Tops Supermarkets among other places like Villa and Foodland.
