|

I know it's a bit off topic, but it IS Christmas time. So what do you want?
I want to go home, but that's not possible. It'll be my first time I'll spend Christmas away from my husband or family in five years. But, I do go home in Feb, so it's kind of like a late Christmas gift.
Barring that, I want a new laptop. Mine is on the verge of committing suicide or having me kill it. The mouse jumps around and randomly highlights, downloads, or just decides that it doesn't want to write. So that's what I'll be getting for Christmas, well after Christmas, because now I'm broke. |

I'd like to go home, too, but taking a family with me is expensiv-o. Haven't seen my brothers in years, so pressure is growing, though.
I'd like books by G.K. Chesterton. He's unattainable here, and wrote probably a hundred books and other publications - I have 4 or 5. |

I'd like to not have to work on Christmas Day <sulk>.
Apart from that, I'd like a less brick-like mobile phone. Please.

I want money! I'm moving on January 4th and the last thing I need is more stuff... I did get an early Christmas gift this week in the form of two scholarships though. Yay! |

I want a magical ability that would let me erase the last two weeks of my life...
I don't want any material possessions. Possessions=more stuff to get rid of when it's time to move on.

You could always stay. Then you never have to get rid of stuff |

I enjoy teaching but keep hoping for something that will provide a more lasting sense of building something worthwhile. Individual students are great and the school I work with now is honest and conscientious about delivering value. I just want more of a feeling that something is being accomplished.
Ah well, laugh if you will, just one guy's Christmas wish for himself. |

A half kilo of Market Spice tea from Seattle, which is simply ambrosia. I have never found anything which matches it, despite numerous attempts by various companies. I am addicted. |

A few new coursebooks would be nice. Lots of stationary goods. A book, perhaps. |

I'd like to give Naturegirl a tip for Xmas. Why not buy a nifty but cheap wireless optical mouse, pad plugs into USB and bingo, no probs with your laptop mousepad any more. Also get an external hard drive and suddenly your machine is almost a real computer and the whole lot is still portable!!! |

Well, since it's a Pentium 2, I think I just want a new laptop. |

I, for one, would like to see more pomposity and pedantry on Dave's ESL Cafe discussion boards.
My true wish is for my New Year's boy to be born healthy, and for my wife to come through the delivery safely. I'd be perfectly content if this Christmas wish comes true. |
