Have to agree with your comments about Saudi drivers.
The Kuwaitis might give them a run for their money but Saudi is like a continous episode of that US tv show Worlds Worst Drivers.
I managed to survive driving there without an accident but I had many near death experiences!
Boredom is not so much an issue as cultural isolation and culture shock.
Many people can fill their time in doing various things and indeed I had a very active social life in Saudi.
But Saudi is insidious in the way it creeps into your bones and becomes the sort of place you can't live with but can't live without.
I managed to get out just in time before I was completely institutionalised.
It has taken me 2 years to adjust back to western work and society.
I have to say it was very hard at times and mant times i felt like i wanted to go back. |

| If biking is really important then I suggest that you get a job in Riyadh. I work at a uni and live in the DQ where biking is allowed. The weather from November to March is really nice for biking. However, as the other posters have stated biking is not advised in other places in the KSA. |
