I'm going to be moving to Rome in a couple of weeks. I already have the job offer but now I need to look for a place to live... Should I stay in hostels in Rome until I find a place when I'm out there, or are there other ways of finding a place to live, like on the internet?? Any advice and info would be great. |

I doubt you'll find anywhere suitable on the internet before you get to Rome, and it makes sense to be on the ground when you're looking so you also get a feel for the different neighbourhoods, travelling distances etc.
A good place to start looking once you're there is porta portese (a classifieds paper that comes out every other week - I think) or try also wanted in rome. They also have a website (.com) and you can get a feel for expat prices for flat shares etc. Once you're there, you can also try agencies in the area you like, and you might also be able to get a non-resident rental agreement which is possibly better at first, as you don't get locked into four years.
La Feltrinelli (bookshop just off Piazza della Repubblica) also has a list of flatshares, although I have no idea how updated it is. I think also that the English bookshop in Trastevere also has a list of flatshares.
Good luck - pm me if you need any more specific info. Hope the job goes well! |

For temporary or permanent accomodation, I would try Craig's List. THere are tons of apartments listed in Rome and you'll save money versus staying in a hostel. |
