Is all this in addition to the medical done to get the visa in your homeland? I had a chest xray in the UK to get my entry visa.

Do they give you a magazine at least to help extract all your fluids?

I never did a medical test when I arrived in SA. I just gave them my certified medical report (including HIV test and chest X-ray) which was done in UK.
And I never did a medical test when I renewed my Iqama.
I know that sometimes they require foreigners from some specific countries, like Egypt, to do a medical re-test for Hypititis B & C.

Sometimes, during HAJJ period, they do a random medical check for Malayria and other infectious deseases for pilgrims from high risk countries!

I mean, what happened in the meantime?
They worked normally. It was simply the RC was reluctant to process the visa.

Reminds me of the old story that you could never smoke a joint in Buraidah because you couldn't find a shop that sold tobacco.

The second medical within the Kingdom is fairly new. It was in place when I got my last iqama in Nov 2006.

Well, thanks for all the inside info. I feel a bit less nervous now knowing that the two guys continued on working and werent curling their toes, biting on a rag and getting caned cause of a piss test.
Im taking whatever steps to get the metabolites from minimal amount of cannabis I took during the holidays out of my system and wishing for the best. I expect to arrive in Saudi sometime in the end of January-beginning of February so I have a few weeks to chug fluids, exercise and try whatever makeshift homemade detox recipes I can find on the net.
Im anxious to see how everything turns out. Wish me luck!

Hi,

I think you're right, you don't want to worry! I know a very good way of getting rid of anxiety and nervosity...lol

All the best for the piss test!

I would have thought sucking the life's blood out of you and extracting the urine is what happens in your new work place after, not before the medical.....pun intended.
