If I want to get a job ready for when I arrive how much in advance should start to apply?
If I have only a B.S. will I only teach kids under 10? What is the oldest I could teach? I have one semester of mandarin.
Could Taiwan be best country for saving money? Is it more likely than not that with a fair effort I could end a 12 month contract with $10K saved?

THANKs

Highly unlikely you'd save $10,000 in a first year contract. The reality of it is that most people don't actually start saving money until the 4,5, or 6th month of their contracts.

If applying online you should start contacting schools several months before you plan to arrive.

With your education you would be eligible to teach in a bushiban, which can range from 6 to about 12-13 years old. You can also illegally try to teach kindergarten 3-6, or take on privates outside of work, and they could be of any age.

Taiwan is not the best country for saving money, if all you care about is the money check out Kuwait, UAE, Korea, there is boat loads of money there, but of course the standard of living is much different. Taiwan offers less pay, but a decent standard of living outside of the office.

The Middle Eastern countries require Master's degrees, though. Always?
