Hello everyone. I didn't know if I should post this in the "Newbie" section or here. Since my main goal is to teach in Argentina, I decided upon this forum. I do not have a degree, nor a TEFL certification yet. I want to teach children in Argentina (or Uruguay). What is the best type of certification for someone in my position? Would a 70-hour online certification suffice? I'm from the US and am a native English speaker. I travel to Argentina on vacation once a year or so, and the more time I spend down there, the more it feels "right", you know? Thank you in advance to anyone who gives me a little insight.

I'm editing to add something I forgot: Do you think my chances of getting into TEFL without a degree are good enough to try? I just don't want to be disappointed if I can't find work.

Id do a TEFL course. I was teaching ESL on and off in the US before I decided on doing a TEFL course in BsAS and you know what ? Im glad I did one. There was really a lot I didnt know, how to teach grammar, lesson planning, etc so after the course I found myself teaching with confidence and if anything that really counted for a lot. Anyways, its always better to know what youre doing and for what its worth, EFL/ESL teaching is more effective if you train before you teach. chau!
