I was promised and received the cheapest one-way fare to my current destination and was also re-imbursed a portion of the extra baggage that I paid for.
If it is in the contract, it is expected to be honoured.
I consider myself lucky, since I only waited 4 months to get my money back. I know some people who waited 14 months. |

| Never had a problem with employers in the Middle East. However, the best free ticket was a bribe from a Saudi student which allowed me go back to the UK for a few weeks during the Hajj holiday. He got good marks. Unfortunately, it had to be Saudi Airlines where he had the connections, but don't look a gift camel . . . |

| A friend of mine worked for EF back in '97 and he is still waiting to be paid for his plane ticket. He wasn't working for one of the dodgy franchises, he was working for an EF owned school. |

| Sorry for the customary note of frivolity, but at the end of my first contract in the Kingdom of SA, I got a ticket. Although I had booked it well in advance and heard the travel agent dictating the spelling of my name (you can't say Whisky, it's Washington), I found that my surname had been transliterated from Arabic and back again. I was Mr Peanut. |

Peanut ? Snoopy ? Am I dense ? i do not follow this at all.
Incidentally teaching students Alfa, Bravo, Charlie, Delta, etc is a good filler if ever you need something for a lesson. Just remember that in Saudi W is Washington ( as I suspect it was in the US during prohibition !) |

When I was in Kampuchea, I heard about a predecessor at my school who was an ex-military guy. He would show up in the morning with a big bottle of Angkor beer, apparently. He was teaching kindergarten, so he taught the alphabet using the alpha bravo charlie stuff--- in fact that's what he taught them! Needless to say, i bet the kids were mystified.
