Found out today that employers should've sent you your tax witholding statements by now, as one lady at the tax office really put her foot down with my ex-employer.
What is with this delay? Why would employers want to hold back from sending these statements earlier? Does it even matter if you get them sooner, or no?
It seems I'm running into more authoritarian people these days, those who're really capable of helping 'the little guy.' It really amazes me. I recently had a battle with a school that tried to jip me NT20,000, went to The Bureau of Labor, and they made the school cut me a check that same day.
There's help out there, and resources for the foreigner, so don't feel powerless. I'm quite more pleased with Taiwan now. The corruption that's innate in schools is not so pervasive in other areas of life here, meaning the more professional people are capable of assisting you. |
