Does anyone have any information on this company or George Theiss? I am interested in applying with them.

Also, my last couple of posts haven't received a response...Why? Has anyone else noticed this with their questions?

Never worked for him but he seemed on the level when I contacted him a couple of years ago about a position.

Don't be discouraged about lack of response to your posts. Many of these forums have low traffic.

I worked for
English 2 Go for 11 months and this is my opinion only, of the good, the bad and the ugly. First I would not go back and found there to be alot of paper work B.S. and time wasting meetings, a required Friday once a month. The management was often disorganized and possibly at times duplicitous. The good is that I was paid on time and they had great clients. They also will help you get a bank account, a good deal and a cell phone, also a good deal. The discounted travel was a bit of a joke to promote the owner's wife's travel agency...no one really used it.

I believe there are firms that pay more with a lot less bs... as there are alot of great companies in San Jose...

I currently work at English2Go and I've had a great experience so far. A meeting once a month isn't that bad. Other companies all over the world require meetings multiple times a week. The paperwork isn't nearly as bad as it was in Korea. It takes only about 30 minutes for the monthly reports. The rest is simply sign-in sheets and attendance, which is required at any school. If you're looking for a job that doesn't require paperwork or meetings, you'd probably be better off working at McDonald's since real work seems so overwhelming for you. I've used the discounted travel, and yes it's owned by the owner's wife, but I still saved some money. I've always been paid on time, and the director has helped me and my husband whenever we've needed assistance. Best of luck to everyone!

There are number of companies that do not require multiple meetings multiple times a week in San Jose. How long have you been in Costa Rica? I strongly suggest that if you want the low down on English 2 Go P.M me and I will give you names of other former teachers you can email and ask about their experience.

I don't really understand this meeting hostility. If you have to show up to three meetings a week and they're all useless, then I get it. But not all meetings are like that. In the school I'm working at now, I would be totally lost without our twice-a-week meetings to talk about our students and happenings in and outside the school.
