Governments might refuse to allow you legal entry, or at least a working visa, in their country. Immigration officials might not have a pure reputation, but I don't see them giving that information away to every Henny-Penny Eikaiwa/Hogwan/Busiban owner that asks for it. It must take a fantastic bribe/case of nepotism/whatever to get immigration to divulge the name of every foreign national who has been denied a work visa. I've heard of stories of employers from a certain region doing the "you'll never work in this town again" gambit, and pressuring other schools to not hire a certian teacher.
But in East Asia, as a general rule, the door revolves fast and furious. Teachers, students, and even school owners and officials come and go rather quickly. I'd be surprised if there was a nation wide, or even region - wide blacklist of certain teachers by employers; just because of the logistics involved if nothing else. |
