I have some questions about taxes.
Our school will automatically take out our Turkish taxes. We still will have a decent pay.
How much will we owe the US government? Will we be taxed with the same rate as living in US? Will we be taxed on the gross or the net we make in Turkey, since the gross is already taxed in Turkey???
If we are taxed in US, do we download files in Turkey to send to US?
Thanks for the help. |

A friend of mine has a CPA in the US and she says that we do not have to pay US taxes for money earned here. But, if you have savings accounts and such that are earning interest back in the states, you have to claim that.
Whether that is 100% true or not, how would the US know what you earned in Turkey? There is no paperwork. Even if there was, they couldn't access it.
Why should you pay taxes here and in the US? As far as the US knows, you are on extended holiday and did not earn any US dollars. |
