Has anyone worked for SHSID? Anyone know someone who has? Any information about this school would be terrific.

SH318 is a code given to a client school by Angelina's ESL Cafe! The actual name of the school is Shanghai High School International Division. |

I had an interview with them a while ago, they never got back to me afterwards though . But they seemed pretty cool, the offer was good and if you can search well enough on google you can find the odd little write up about it. I somehow stumbled upon someone's CV which said that person had worked at SHSID for 3 years, which implies it can't be too bad. And another person described the working routine, 5 days a week, Mon-Fri, 8-4. You get free accomodation and $1600US a month, a bit weird but they only give you a salary in a fixed $US amount which means you might lose out on exchange rates, however they also said they'd compensate for that at the end of the year with the yearly bonus. |

Yeah, I'm a little worried about being paid in dollars too. After your interview, did they have you fill out a survey asking you what classes you'd like to teach, if you have any medical problems, and a couple of essay questions?
If they offer me the job, I'm going to ask if I can speak to one of the teachers there. |

No I didn't get that far . I think they're quite a serious school and looking for good teachers. As for the dollars thing, they did say any loss through fluctuating exchange rate would be compensated by your annual bonus. |

Salary sounds a bit minimumsville for the type of school and department. USD2000 and upwards is the going rate. |
