I am paying taxes for the first time here in Japan. And i was just wondering if i have to pay US social security tax? Some people were saying that I don't have to pay anything while some people were saying that i have to pay maybe up to two grand. I can get forms and file and all the stuff on my own just looking for a simple yes no answer.

No.
But if you're now paying Japanese taxes you are liable for the Japanese system. You can't stay in the US system unles you applied to stay in it before you left the US. If you want the details look at the Social Security website and search on "Social Security Totalization Agreements". |
