Here's an interesting article about Japan racing toward a future with humanoid robots. What do you think? I think the people interviewed have unrealistic expectations of how far this would go.

Cool! I really want to see one of these in person. Is there some sort of robot museum in Japan?

Vince,

I read an article recently where the elderly enjoy robots, dogs and cats. They feel happier when robots and animals are around.

That reminds me of an old Saturday Night Live skit about elderly people being afraid of advanced technology. Elderly people are watching TV, a robot busts through their front door and starts going after them, then a salesman steps on screen and pitches robot insurance. I tried to find it on YouTube, but no luck.

Yeah, I think I remember that one too.

The salesman was Dan Akroyd, I think.

Praise to the wise ones, our robot masters.

Warning: Persons denying the existence of Robots may be Robots themselves.

"Robots the future of Japan?"

That confused me right there.

Stand on any station in Tokyo and watch the lines of identically dressed businessmen reading their identical papers.

The future is now.

Am I bring cynical again...probably.

Considering how some of my students referred to the typical businessmen as robots with barcodes on their forehead, I think you're ok.
