I taught for three winters at different Russian universities. I have a BS in Nursing - 30 years old and a pre-historic BA in Chemistry.
Heres how you do it. Go to the university and talk to the English department head. Say this, "Good Morrow, Good madam! Methinks I couldst teacheth here. Hast thou needs of arts such as mine?"
Repeat that until you get a hit. They arent going to take you out back and shoot you for asking. The farther back in the woods you go the easier it is to make a score.
P.S. If the idea of wandering around Russia asking about work at universities is intimidating to you...maybe you better stay home. Lots of jobs in Los Angeles for English teachers. (smirk)
P.P.S. Bring extra cash unless you REALLY like living off potatoes. |
