Anybody know where I might buy a beermaking or winemaking kit in Bangkok?
I've been in Bangkok more than 10 years and looked everywhere and asked around friends, but nobody seems to know. Of course, I realise that beer is so cheap in the kingdom and so most people are happy to buy their their own as opposed to making it but I used to do it and would love to give it a go again.
Anyone seen it in for example Emporium or Parragon or in another shopping mall? Central Lard Prao maybe?
Drop us a line if you know or reply to this thread.
cheers

I don't know where you can get one but years ago a friend tried to buy the pieces seperately -- there were some chemical supply shops near Democracey Monument - between the monument and the the Khao San area. I suspect it is illegal to brew your own. Good luck. |

Hi Roguegrafix,
thanx for the heads up. Yes, I have since learnt that it's illegal to brew your own in BKK (along with gambling but doesn't really stop anyone!!)
Cheers for the heads up!

The time you spend hiking around Bangkok looking for equipment, you'd be better of ordering the stuff online. Plus, despite the size of the city, there are certain things that are hard to come by and even if you do the mark-up will make any shipping costs seem relatively small. |
