1st posting here, but I have read thru (yes, I use abbrev's! - espec w/ broken hand at mo) lots of threads. My situation: 34, fed up, N.Irishman in Ingerland, have BA, PgDip, PGCE, been a youth mag editor, taught Media for a few years.
I've read the varied opinions on ILA and concluded, workwise, it sounds ok for year 1 at least - but haven't got to that point yet! Can only see the ILA or TEFLCorp CELTA on offer in Vietnam, and would welcome any advice on +/- of either as training provider.
Was edging towards E. Eur as destination, but liking the sound of VN, lo a tad concerned about weather - any thoughts?! |

Do the TESOL course in England and have it notarised there by a notary public. Better still do a CELTA and do it through a university.
That way you have a cert you can use worldwide.
Check with all these course providers if the cert they supply can be notarised in the country of the course.
Pointless having a cert that's not worth the paper it's printed on.
I know, I've got one in Vietnam, and it cost $1500. |
Can you please elaborate on this? That is, are you saying the CELTA thru Ila's program is not acceptable in other countries? How can that be if they are a recognized CELTA trainer? |

Jerry's comments are misleading, of course your CELTA is valid worldwide.
Language Link in Hanoi also offer the CELTA.
