For teachers arriving in Buenos Aires and wanting to stay here long term and get residency, you need to get a one-year contract from your employer.

The contract should be specific:
For minimun 1 year, full-time position (8 hours a day), and should officially provide an income of minimum 650 pesos per month (minimum wage, I believe). The employer's name and CUIT number should appear on the contract. The contract should be notarized before being presented to Migraciones (Av. Antartida Argentina 1355, puerto madero).

You also need to present your employer's Constancia from AFIP to migraciones within 1 month of receiving the Residencia Precaria.

This is what is required for Extra-MERCOSUR foreigners wanting to live here legally and have rights in Argentina (called la radicacin) - under the 'worker' category. Otherwise you work under the table and you can't sign a lease for an appartment or open a bank account. It's a huge problem here.

I encourage ESL teachers here to ask their employers about being sponsored to work here in 'blanco' and be given a contract to enable them to get Argentine documents. If enough ESL teachers here ask about getting a contract, maybe these language institutes will get the message and start hiring foreigners legally, like they should.

Hope this info helps,
Mucha suerte.
