Hi everyone. I'm wondering if it's possible to teach without a degree or certificate? I wanted to teach in Ukraine, since my family is from there, and I know a little of the language. Would that give me an advantage? And if it is possible, can someone give me some links to do this? Thanks.

It is probally possible but the pay rate would be low.

In the interests of actually having something to offer paying students, you should at least consider getting an entry-level certificate. Go for something 120 hours on-site, with supervised teaching practice.

Anything less is just not fair to whomever you expect to be paying your salary.

Gostillerz has already studied a second language so he is out in front of a 120 hour EFL course by a mile.

Find stuff like on this link and go for it:

Thanks for the help Anda. I'm still trying to find a school, but persistence is a virtue!

Anda, the OP says he knows a little Ukrainian. Most likely he (or she) picked it up as a child from family. This is MILES away from actually studying a language as an adult - as most of his/her students would likely be doing. He/she is NOT 'out in front' of any newbie who's bothered to take a course.

A course is useful in two ways: the piece of paper tells employers that you are willing to invest time, energy, and money in learning how to do the job properly. And, it gives you some idea of how to start when you find yourself standing before paying students.
