|
|
Many of my University English Major students are preparing for the "TM4" test & are asking me how they can do well on the test. After explaining to them that I am a native English speaker & have NEVER had to take the test, they still want me to wave my "magic wand" to make them do well on the test. I have tried suggesting they get feedback from students who have already taken the test, but they want more.
Does anyone have any suggestions for where I can access information (in English) about the TM4 test? Thanks in advance! |

What IS the TM4 test? Admittedly my knowledge of what's happening in China is not as current as that of posters living in Cuba, but I never heard of TM4. Is it the old and much-criticized CET4 tarted up to appear meaningful? |

are you talking about TEM4? test for english majors? if so, the TEM4 is a comprehensive exam that tests listening, reading and writing.
there are plenty of handbooks out that help students prepare for the exam. you can find them in any campus bookshop or in the shops outside of school gates. these handbooks often contain model exams that students can use to practice and prepare for the real exam. |

Ok, thanks, I guess I mean the "TEM4". I was pretty sure there would be books published & PLENTY of material for them to use to study but figured I might try to further help if I could. Just wondered if there was some kind of website or something. |

if they're english majors as you say then surely they know about all these books. tell them to get together as a group and do the model exams together once or twice a week. of course, the TEM 4 exam is being written in a few weeks so unless they've already been preparing for it, its a bit late to be starting now. |
