Hello,
I am looking to teach in South America in my summer break this year, covering June, July and August. I have CELTA, two years experience and a degree from the Uni of Edinburgh. Of course I am well aware that this is not also the summer for most of the countries in Latin America, so I guess I might have to write off "summer camp" type work, but I was wondering if anybody had any advice as wether there would be jobs avalable in that part of the world at this time of year.
I'm really very open as to what type of work it would, adults, children etc or to be honest what country. My main priority is being able to keep my Spanish going in my spare time while taking a needed break from being here in Spain.

Any thoughts/advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks very much,

Simon

There really aren't camps here. YOu could probbaly teach at an institute though no problem.

Just pick a city, large cities are good and start handing out your CV. YOu should have a job within a couple of weeks.

If you want to keep Spanish going, coming to teach English isn't the way to go, especially if you look gringo. People will speak to you in English, they want to pracitse their English as well, remember.

YOu might consider volunteering, that's great for Spanish. Or studying.

Try here
www.goabroad.com , they have language schools, volunteer and work info.

GOod luck

By the way, the Spanish here in LA is VERY different from that in Salamanca. I lived in Salamanca for a while, came here to Peru and no one could understand me.
