Aah Soapdodger, don't pour water on Gav's idea. Maybe he's planning on putting in some pictures or cartoons along with the words...

Why not just set up a website or a blog then? Why a book?

No need to worry about distribution of funds and far more accessible to a wider variety of people.

Just my two (half of four) yen.

Forget about everyone else, and forget trying to make it an educational book; make up your own stories about the specific places you have taught; turn it into a fictional novel by distorting / embellishing the truth since most esl teachers lives are rather dreary...thrown in a murder, or a kidnapping senario, or some sort of hook that will appeal more to a broader audience.
Your title is intriguing...but your confessions better be wild, unique and larger than life or who the heck will want to read it.

I agree. I've read so many "confessions" that have bored me to tears.

I am underwhelmed by the positve responses to your book idea.(sarcasm for you hard of reading)
'show me the money'-being the majority answer----- we are indeed a poor and mercenary lot
im me and i'll contribute--send my yen to charity---preferably the home for bitter and twisted old teachers -its somewhere in Cambodia or Laos i think.... Laughing

Hi Gav,

Did you think about contacting the Chicken Soup.... Soul people? If $$$ are a concern for everyone I think this is a good avenue to explore. Just my two yen.

I actually think there are several of these across the globe with the vast majority of them in Asia. Two such places exist in old Siam--one in Northern Thailand and one near Patpong in Bangkok. Very Happy

A good ESL book to read is "Never Fade Away'" by William Hart. I found it interesting and fun. I recommend it. Smile
