Hey everybody Smile

Dave FINALLY added me, so I can post on here. I've read through a lot of posts (mostly by naturegirl)...

some background...i'm 26, have a bachelors in psychology from Boston University and just spent 4 years as an officer in the Marine Corps...and now am dealing black jack in a local casino in reno nevada but looking to start traveling again (i spent 2 months in europe last year).

If all goes as planned I will be taking the TEFL course with costaricatefl.com in Samara, Costa Rica in August, graduating in September. But the only reason I'm going to Costa Rica is because I can fly there for free. (my brother is an airline pilot) ..I really want to teach in Peru.

So my questions are....what is the best way to get from Costa Rica to Peru...any cheap airlines...???

Second, I'd like to work in Arequipa or Trujillo, or some out of the way coastal place...no cities for me...and I was wondering how hard it will be to find work in September...and how early I should start applying for schools (the school in costa rica said they can help me with job placement in Peru, but I'd just like to get a head start).

hanks in advance for all replies....i

In Trujillo the two main language institutes, El Cultural (offers American English) and CIDUNT (offers British English) employ people pretty much year round, although getting work in advance can be tricky.

How long are you planning on staying? January and February can be quiet here in Trujillo because everyone is at the beach and skips class. That said, if you arrive well before that you should have enough work to see you through the leaner months. Lots of parents put their brats in language lessons for the summer months (Jan and Feb) so if you have some experience working with kids you shouldn't have too many problems.

PM me nearer the time if you want the low down on Trujillo.
