Hey everyone, I've made the decision to go to Thailand to teach English! I quit my bank job and will leave from the US for Bangkok on April 28th. I've already got the plane ticket and have enrolled in a certification course. It's the TESOL class at ECC, starting on May 12th. After that, I will job hunt for a position at a language school, not sure what part of the country yet.
Thanks to everyone on this site who helped out with some of my questions. I'll probably have more as things come up, but I'm committed now and looking forward to it. I'll be staying initially in a guesthouse near Khao San Road when I get there and spend those two weeks before the class as a vacation and getting adjusted to the country. I've also bought Pimsleur's basic Thai on CDs and am learning some of the language.
Anyway, just wanted to let everyone know this; wish me luck! |
