I do not see much about Interlink on this site so I suppose it is quite a good thing. I have been offered a position with them and have a couple of questions.
1. What is the housing they provide like? Is it safe and secure. I have a wife and daughter.
2. Does one need to drive or do they provide transport to and from work?
3. What is it like to work there? Is everything pretty smooth?
Any other info that you can provide me with would be greatly appreciated. |

i have not been to KSA before but have worked in Kuwait before. I found Kuwait to be alright.
I do have an offer in the UAE but after reading the boards it comes across as being expensive. Is this the case? |

Others could better respond to your query about the UAE. I've never worked there. But I've have a few contracts in KSA.
Regarding security, when I last departed KSA last year, security there was more obvious than in the west, but I didn't feel any more threatened than I do here in the states. You're not going to find a place there (or anywhere, really) that is "safe and secure." They just do the best they can like governments everywhere. The difference, of course, is that Iraq is quite volatile, so if things flare up with Iran, etc, the whole security issue could be up in the air.
A BIG difference you'll find is that there is virtually nothing to do in KSA in terms of social life outside your compouind and colleagues. No movies, no nightclubs, no dating (no problem for you since you're married), but it gives you an idea of the social environment there. The Saudis in general are very cordial people. The students I had on my last gig were outstanding (college). All the restrictions will take some adjustment. But the boredom will be somewhat muted for you since you have a family.
Sorry I have no specific information about Interlink. Congratulations on your appointment, I understand they are choosy. Best of luck with it. |

Based on what I have heard about Interlink and life in Riyadh versus your other offer which you said on another thread was with HCT... I would take HCT - depending on the branch, of course.

Silence sometimes might be frightening. It could be either nobody has any issues with the institution or they are gagged. Good Luck and when you have a word, please share it here with everybody. |
