So according to a slough of outside news reports, the KSA will be holding its first film festival in Dammam on May 20th for 5 days. It will be sponsored by the Dammam literary club and the Saudi Society of Arts and Culture. Has anyone else heard about this? I've been searching high and low for a way to get tickets, but no luck. Does anyone have contact info for either of these two organizations? Or know anything about the festival and how to get tics? If so, please pm me. |

How come a country which does not have cinemas will hold film festivals!!!
Well, it seems to me that the magic kingdom wants to imitate Egypt!
BTW, the films are in Arabic, so if you dont understand Arabic you are wasting your time.
I imagine that in this festival, men and women will be seated in different halls during the screenings under the observation or control of the muttaweens who will be watching very carefully what will be displayed in the magic screens!!
The 'greens' and the 'blacks' are still debating whether cinemas should be allowed in the magic kingdom or not!! .
BTW, Uncle Bandar will be very pleased with this festival! |
