If you are in EFL, likely not. If you are a professor with an impressive CV/resume, your chances are better.

There is a lot of talk about directions for tertiary institutes, from making Arabic and IT part of the matriculation requirement to ensuring institutions are more accountable for what they teach. In today's http://www.thenational.ae/apps/pbcs.dll/frontpage there was an article about lowly paid teachers in government colleges and universities. The article was also about the lack of a diverse range of subjects being studied. There is a fear that this will lead to a glut of IT and business trained graduates. The National is offering a Dhs300 p.a subscription at the mo.

I was trying to show you bumpkins that if you are savvy and say you are an ESP wizzkid, you can negotiate your salary. Just say you are interested in implementing the government's plan for educating the kids to get a job as a doctor or an economist. Say you know stuff about economics even if you don't. Know what I mean?

Ha, ha, ha, George, you seriously think people who are too lazy to do their homework in as soft as subjects as business and IT at the undergraduate level at least among national institutions' current curriculums, are ready for chemistry and physics?

Soft subjects, Sowsan, are not as soft as the tissue surrounding my heart. I feel chastised, chastened and chaste.

BTW, are you Japanese? If so, animal, agricultural or textile based?
