i do believe they are looking for people. they had a very high turn over rate before. classes are too big. director is supportive. students are horrible. pay is not that great but better than before. one turkish teacher got caught making it with a student and changing his exam results. i saw them a few months later still together, they looked happy. the university has a service that picks you up in the morning and drops you off at night. you have to clock in and out, which means that even if there is no work, you have to be there.
if you have any other questions you can ask... |

Thanks for the quick and informative response!
Are the students more horrible than at other universities or just part of a trend? How poor is the pay? Less than the cities language schools? Overall is it bearable?
PM me if you want - any more info would be very gratefully recieved. |

the pay is better than the language schools and it's regular, which is important. the kids are bad but not really much worse than any other private universty in turkey. the kids in highschools are totally unbareable except for the very select few who know the secrets of dealing with swarms of spoilt adolescents.
the university will get you your work permit, which is very important and something language schools can't do very well. once you've got that and a year of uni teaching on your cv you can go other places. i'd say on the whole the place is worth working at for a year, maybe two. |
