I'm sorry if this has been already asked .... I couldn't find it in previous threads when I did a search. If it has been asked and answered, please merge this into the appropriate thread!

I am a qualified and experienced primary/junior teacher, engaged to an Argentine and looking to move from Canada to Argentina in two or three years. (I also have my intermediate qualifications.) I'd appreciate any advice as to what steps I should be taking in advance of moving: especially, what qualifications should I obtain in the next while to make myself more marketable? My Spanish is very good, but not perfect; I'm semi-fluent in French. And is there any particular organisation with whom I should be making contact? My partner has no contacts in education, so I'm breaking new ground here.

At the moment we're talking about going south, possibly Chubut.

Cualquiere ayuda seria linda, y muchas gracias de antemano.

Saludos del otro extremo de nuestros Americas!

Your best bet would be to contact the Canadian Embassy as they would know what qualifications of yours are recognized locally. Additionally, you may wish to contact the various international schools if you are not fluent in Spanish. Vaya con Dios.

Thanks; but I regret to inform you that your opinion of our embassies is much higher than they merit! They're more interested in immigration to Canada than vice versa.

The Argentine consulate here, on the other hand, is quite helpful.

saludos

Argentine Consulates are a good start, you may also want to try Migraciones, see link in sticky above.

If you can, try to get Residency here, so you don't have to do border runs every 3 months, especially if you plan on living South like in Chubut, that could be a hassle..

Chubut is nice for whale watching, though!
Hope to see you down here,

Suerte, S.

YOur best bet would be to contact schools directly, since you're a qualified teacher, you can teach in a school. Theyre likely to get you a work visa and have you sign a contract for a year or two. Or since you'll be married to an Argentine, you can get residency through him.
