Anyone care to provide me with how the course runs at Dunham Institute. I am considering applying there for the June course. Do the home stays have air conditioning? What about the school? How difficult is it to get around? How does one access the internet? |

Why would you need AC? Is Dunham located in a part of the country that has very hot weather? |

Although Chiapas produces over 50% of Mexico's electricity, prices are higher than in Northern California, for example.
Air conditioning is a luxury of the rich here. I doubt if home-stay families provide it. |

Maybe the OP should considering taking a training course in a part of the country with more temperate weather, like Mexico City. |

I, likewise, took my TEFL program at the Dunham with Joanna. I am a big fan of Joanna's and of Chiapa de Corzo. However, it will be extremely hot. I had the best homestay home and there were only floor fans, no a.c. so keep that in mind. |

I would be careful, and if possible check it out first hand before you commit yourself to anything.
I know of several people who (about three months ago) left from there running, and screaming at the conditions/offers. They opted to settle in Mexico City, and take a course here.
I dont have the personal experience (as some posters here do), but I have heard more than one person talk of it negatively. Different people want different things so again, check it out the best you can, and make sure it offers what you are looking for. |
