Are there any teaching jobs that will fly you into the host country to take up the position? I do not mean reimbursing the teacher later. Thank you. |

Yes, there are such jobs. Having flights paid isn't the norm in a lot of places, but it can be done. I've been flown in to Japan, Peru, and Oman (where it is the norm, as is paid accommodation). My tickets were booked and paid for up front by the schools.

In Japan, about the only place widely known is the JET Programme. |

Almost every place in the Gulf (Saudi Arabia et al.) will fly you in (and out.)

What area are you interested in? And what's your background like?
Denise mentioned being flown into Peru- Happened for her, but is an extremely uncommon situation in Peru, from what I know. Should we mention that Denise, if I recall, has a lot of experience and her Masters is from one of the most prestigious programs in the US?
If you're that qualified, a LOT of places might fly you in. If not, JET is the only one I've heard of paying flights to newbs.
Reimbursing the teacher later is more common, but even that is a rare privilege in Latin America.
Best,
Justin |

MMost common in Asia and the ME. As for Peru, denise lucked out, none of the other teachers I knew who worked at the same place got tickets paid for before they arrived. |

Also the NET prog in HK, EPIK prog in Korea (if it's still running), CfBT prog in Brunei, many universities and international schools worldwide... |

Thanks all.
Justin, I have a BA in humanities but no TEFL certificates. I do have teaching experience, mostly adults, experience in Greece, Taiwan, and Spain.
Does Hong Kong still prefer British accents? |

Accents don't matter much in HK, so long as people can understand you. If you don't have QTS (qualified teacher status) or TEFL quals, I wouldn't recommend HK. You'd probably fare better in Korea - I can personally recommend the EPIK programme there, if it's still running. |

I'm questioning my own memory now... it was definitely paid, but I don't remember when. OK, scratch Peru from the list!

English Program in Korea. I imagine you'll find it in a search on the Korean forum. |
