We're off a plantin' this weekend, doing our part so that there will be corn.

| Refined carbs? Have you seen corn tortillas being made, south of Monterrey? We are not talking Bimbo bread here. Some tortillas have been made the same, simple way since 500 AD. How do you think the laborers built the pyramids, and how do they subsist now? It is not as if they were eating Pinguinos. They cannot, like Moctezuma, eat honey and cacao. |

Man I love me some tortillas.
Tortillas are like silverware, or bowls or plates, but tastier. |

| Sure, I like tortillas, a lot with some meals. But really, I can't and won't eat them every day. They get boring. If given a choice between good whole wheat bread for every meal and tortillas, I'd take the bread. |

Your welcome. If you go to the Americas section of the BBC site they have had articles on Mexico lately. Either about the rising food costs, and the affects, or the issues with Narcos, and cops.

In response to the initial question, not particularly. I sometimes tell the waiters not to bother bringing them over to my table, but occasionally it does result in my not getting the harina tortillas which I do like very much.
Tortillas could be worse, they could be grits. |

| I don't like tortillas unless they are filled with something tasty like carnitas or smothered in butter and honey. |
