So I am graduating from college next week and I am finding it almost impossible to get a work visa by September. Also, I wont actually receive my diploma until the end of July.
Is anyone else having this problem getting a visa in time? Do most people have to wait for the next school year after they have graduated? |

Explain. The Chinese consulate in New York still offeres same day visas (you pay a bit more for the rushed visa)
I don't think getting your z-visa should be a problem, if you have the documents from China |

I just got my Z-visa delivered to me on Saturday. I had overnighted it to a visa service in DC the day before. If your paperwork is in order, it's quick.
I think some schools or companies that are just now trying to "hire legal," because of the recent F-visa crackdown, are still not going about it completely legally. I have no idea what is written on the forms I received from my employer. But I have the feeling it's not 100% kosher. More roundabouts. But, I still got the Z-visa. (Even without the scrap of script.) Hopefully everything still works out when I apply for the RP in the coming weeks.
People here say that you can get screwed over taxes and whatnot, even if you assumed everything was above board, but perhaps your school was pocketing the difference, or whatever the case may be. I also think one could get seriously inconvenienced down the road from having pseudo-fraudulent paperwork (and matching work/residence permit) that you had assumed, in your simple trusting Western mind, was ok. |
