2500 yen per HOUR? I get that or more per page as a freelancer. Then again, my background matches what I'm proofreading. A friend of mine worked for ECC doing translation/proofreading and got a whopping 250,000 yen/month FULL-TIME. Sometimes technical stuff, sometimes more mundane things. 250,000 / 40 hr/wk / 4 weeks/month = 1562 yen/hour. Peanuts, IMO. He also had JLPT2 or better. |

| Wow, I was kind of under the impression that that proofreading would pay better than that. Hmmm...I guess it varies depending on where you do it. Do you just pick up those kinds of jobs in ads like you would with teaching jobs? |
