We may have the answer for you if you are looking for guaranteed hours for a month in a place where you really can save money.
My wife and I are going home for family reasons around the first week of September (exact date yet to be confirmed) for a month, and the school we are working for has asked us to try to find replacements for the time we are gone.
There are 2 positions to cover so a couple would be perfect.
Some details:
Location - Putzi city (about 20 mins by scooter from Chiayi)
School - Talented Kids / Kids Castle
Work - 5 days, no weekends
Students - Kindy to Junior High
Class size - from less than 10 to about 20
Class length - from 30 minutes to 60 mins
Hours: Position #1 - about 20 hours per week
Position #2 - about 27 hours per week
Pay: Position #1 - $55,000 per month
Position #2 - $55,000 per month plus overtime @ $550 per hour after 6:30 p.m (works out to about $65,000 per month)
Info about Putzi:
This is a small town / city close to Chiayi where you can easily travel to Carrefour, watch movies, hit pubs and bars etc
Putzi itself isn't very exciting but there are lots of family run restaurants and places to eat and drink; there is a bowling alley, a swimming pool and spa, a great Saturday night market and people are friendly. There are also about a half dozen other foreign teachers here, so you're not completely 'alone'.
This is real 'small town' Taiwan and if you haven't experienced it you really should. The coast is 30 minutes away and there is a bus terminal serving either the HSR or normal 'local' routes right downtown
Oh yeah ... the HSR is right here, so you can easily leave on weekends and go exploring; Taipei in just over an hour, Taizhung in less than 30 minutes, Tainan in 14 minutes!!
Alishan is a short scooter ride away.
Ths Taiwanese teachers at the school are really friendly and helpful and you may even be able to live across the road for the month at one of the teacher's parent's home, but that would have to be arranged.
If you take a rental apartment for a month expect to pay no more than $6 - $7K for a furnished two bedroom.
In many ways this is the best place that we have ever worked as we don't have much to tempt our savings during the week but can easily leave on the weekends. If you're into exercise then it's covered also; there's a small gym and ( considering the size of the city) a huge amount of tracks, tennis courts, badminton and baseball courts at local high schools or sports complexes.
You could easily save around $90K between you for one month of work.
PM me if you're interested and we can arrange to chat. |
