There's various talk in this forum about April being the start of the school year, hence people should be applying for jobs now. Is this so for the Eikawas or do they recruit all year? |

Compared to unis and public schools, eikaiwas usually employ year round though there is a bit of a trend towards April.
Why are you asking? Your answer may depend on that. |

The only reason I ask is that I want to come over and teach; I have B.A., no experience, a CELTA, and Eikaiwa seems to be the best route to "get my foot in the door". Just wanted to leave later than April, that's all. |

Eikaiwas are just like private companies that will accept almost anyone who can afford to pay the sign up and tuition fees. Most of them are open 7 days a week, 50 weeks of the year. You can look for jobs through http://www.ohayosensei.com and http://www.gaijinpot.com
High schools and universities have set terms like back home, and teachers are already been hired months before term begins for most of them. Eikaiwas have teachers coming and going throughout the year. |
