I like the Chinese-Korean people...though I'm not sure if I should like them or not. Rolling Eyes

When I grew up in Australia the workplace used to a good place to work. The boss used to get respect and staff would work well together. These days most workplaces are not such good places to work in. I have worked in eight countries now and find that all offer a mix of problems.

The Chinese take a lot of Sh-t here from the management that they work for in most places. We get treated better if anything. The profit margins for most in business arent that high so many that run a small business are not making a killing.

Coming to Asia and leaving with hate after such a long period if anything shows tunnel vision. I get on well with the Chinese that I work with. I have had one problem in two years with a Chinese head English teacher who tried to use me. The management in the second year have been bad at the college where I've been working but I think my new job's management is good. I have taught for 13 years in Asia now. I'm having fun with students and co workers here. In Korea I usually had problems with about 10 to 20% of local Korean English teachers in the public school system in Korea but go on well with the rest. Life is what you make it here but things could change however if the economy crashes further.

I think Chinese are friendlier. In China, there are English corners everywhere. I enjoyed those because I could meet people my own age and just talk about life. Some Chinese were very candid about their lives, concerns, and government. I never saw or heard of any English corners in Korea. I got the distinct impression that Koreans were ashamed or embarrassed to be seen with westerners in public. Maybe I had a bad experience, but it seemed like Koreans saw westerners as a means to an end. Maybe the US military being there has something to do with it. The Chinese seemed much more curious about different cultures.

chinese by far are nicer than koreans. i've found koreans to be highly hatedul and xenophobic. plus, the chinese have a much better understanding of english. i've also found the korean students to be the most spoiled and unruly lot that i have ever come across and will never come across again!
