Go teach in Guatemala or China and save yourself a nervous bearkdown or a career-end.

Hi I have been short listed by a person who has a IAT domain e-mail address for this new foundation program job at Kalifa U/KUSTAR.

Anyone know anything? Should I avoid?

Thanks

They recently fired several principals and even western teachers with Community College degree and no Bachelors left for God sake.
Go figure it out.

You've been warned and do your homework.

IAT have new colleges opening in Al Ain and Abu Dhabi...has anyone heard anything about them? They are not high schools and seperate from their other school systems...older students, colleges still being built etc.

While I am here, what is the going rate for a one to two bedroom apartment in Al Ain and Abu Dhabi?

Thanks

College - an institution where you can study after you leave school.

Institution - a large important organization that has a particular purpose.

Smoke and Mirrors - metaphor for a deceptive, fraudulent or insubstantial explanation or description.

Halas!

It is very simple: Stay away from IAT unless you are really desperate. If you have decent quals, wait for a better job.

I'd have to agree with the previous poster who would like more specific information about IAT's mistreatment of people. I know someone who has 30 years of experience in the Middle East, including several in the UAE and he has not heard anything negative about the IAT.

I will search again and spend hours going thru threads looking for this info but if someone could save me the time by summarizing here I would greatly appreciate it.

McBrainiac,

I have already combed the posts regarding IAT and I assure you 99% of them are extremely negative. The point here, I think, is how involved is IAT with KUSTAR. Is IAT the recruiter only or will they be running the AD foundation program? There doesn't seem to be any postings on the Sharjah KUSTAR campus.

IAT have jobs in Al Ain for a new Aviation Academy that doesn't seem to have anything to do with KAWSTAR.
It is a new project with high hopes, unrealistic no doubt. Low salary, bad students: isn't that the norm in the Gulf these dates, unless of course you are working with one of the few top institutes. In my experience employers in this region are all the same, just varying degrees of ...
I think it is swings and roundabouts in this game, as long as you can go in, do your job with minimum fuss and get paid at the end of the month count yourself lucky.
MAGS and CfBT sound like nightmare places to work. HCT sounds like its luck of the draw, depending where you end up. A few years in the Gulf teaches you to have low expectations and be very clear about your goals for being here in the first place. Lets face it no one moves to the region for the cultural experience: Starbuck is the same wherever you go.
