I will be in Cambodia in the fall and am looking for a place to volunteer. The only companies I seem to find charge at least $1000/month~~.
Any ideas?? |

Don't pay someone $1000 for the "privilege" to volunteer. Arrive at the airport and buy a business visa. Then you'll be basically clear to do whatever you want within the law. The business visa costs a lot less than that ripoff fee someone wants to charge you.
Then you can find all the volunteer work you want. I have a friend who trekked through Cambodia and random schools in the countryside would come to him and ask him to give one special lesson just because the kids had never seen a foreigner, I guess. $1000 to volunteer -- now there's a scam! |

I'm with you there. I'm sure some of that $1000 goes into assisting different projects, but not all of us have bags of money to give away; just time to offer. |
