The OP's altruistic aim is commendable...

If money is not an issue and are able to pay for your own airfare etc. I would think Nepal, Northern India, as well as areas of Kashmir to name a few have monastaries /orphanages. These charitable organizations certainly have need for teachers to teach the orphans and locals.

I did come accross one Buddhist monastary in Northern India a while back, which was looking for teachers to teach the orphans there. However, I have lost their website. You may want to try a search of such organizations?

The thing about China (and may be true in other countries) the places that really could use volunteers (unpaid, or subidized, but no real salary volunteers) the places that could use these volunteers are often the places least likely to accept volunteers

I know someone who went to the favelas (slums) of Rio and taught ESL there. I'm sure the people appreciate it since it's easy for the upper class to study at language schools, but not for those who have no money.
