I am very interested in working in Ukraine. I have previously taught in Poland, which gave me an introduction to Eastern European culture.
However I have come across numerous articles on the web about attacks on foreigners in Kiev and other cities. I am unsure now whether it would be safe for me. If I moved to Kiev/Ukraine, I would like to be able to live without having to watch my back all the time. I am a white male, although of non-slavic slightly jewish appearance. I would like to know anyone else's experiences. |

You're safe. The attacks involved African and Middle-Eastern people.
I feel safer here than in Atlanta and London. |

I feel safe enough in kiev. You certainly won't have to watch your back all the time. It's just another big city with the same problems as most others, including random violence. In reality, the violence is rare and the chances of being caught up in it are slim. |
